Everything you need to get images ready

Resize by pixels or percent

Enter an exact width and height with the aspect ratio locked, or scale from 1% to 400%. You can pad or fill to a new shape instead of stretching.

Crop with presets

Crop freely or to 1:1, 4:3, 16:9, 4:5 or 9:16, or pick a built-in size for Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, YouTube or Pinterest.

Rotate, flip, straighten

Turn the image 90° at a time, mirror it, or level a tilted horizon to within half a degree.

Quick colour fixes

Adjust brightness, contrast, saturation, hue, blur and sharpness, or apply black & white or sepia, with a live preview.

Compress & convert

Export to JPG, PNG or WebP, watch the file size update live, or let PixelResize hit a target size in KB.

Private by design

All processing happens in your browser, and server processing is optional. Nothing is stored and there are no accounts.

Frequently asked questions

How do I resize an image without losing quality?

Make the image smaller rather than larger, keep the aspect ratio locked, and export as PNG or as a high-quality JPG or WebP (85 or above). PixelResize scales down in several steps, which keeps fine detail sharp.

Are my photos uploaded to a server?

Not by default. Cropping, resizing, rotating, adjusting and converting all happen in your browser using the HTML5 canvas. The image is only sent to the server if you choose “On server” processing or open an image from a URL, and even then it is deleted as soon as the response is sent.

How do I reduce an image’s file size in KB?

Open the Export step and enter a target size in KB. PixelResize searches for the highest JPG or WebP quality that fits. Shrinking the image’s pixel size first saves even more.

Which format should I choose: JPG, PNG or WebP?

Use JPG for photos, PNG for graphics, screenshots or anything that needs transparency, and WebP when you want the smallest file that modern browsers and most apps support.

What are the right image sizes for social media?

Common sizes are 1080×1080 or 1080×1350 for Instagram posts, 1080×1920 for stories, 1500×500 for an X header, 1584×396 for a LinkedIn banner and 1280×720 for YouTube thumbnails. All of them are built in as presets.

Is PixelResize free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many images you resize.
